then they locked them in there and they said, if anyone was found on the streets until the evacuation order was over there, they would arrest him and take him to Chicago. Yes. Okay. It's 6.30, so we'll call the meeting of the Planning and Development Committee to order. So we'd like to order a prayer. Thank you. Heavenly Father, we humbly come to you tonight to ask you to bless this meeting and thank you, Father, for all the committee. committed people here that are here to do the best work we can for Stevenson County. Thank you for the rain and the nice weather. In Jesus' name, amen. I would know Brian's not here because he hurt his back, so otherwise he'd be here. Okay. Oh, sir, it's mean. Well, he said he was flat on his back. Okay. On ice. Okay. With that, entertain a motion to approve the agenda. Comote. Second. I didn't, second by Baker, all in favor? Aye. Any opposed? Motion carries. A review of minutes from June 28th. Motion to approve. Motion to a second. Second. Any discussion? Hearing none, all in favor say aye. Aye. Any opposed? Approval carries as well. Bill, we have claims tonight totaling $1,489.97. Motion to approve. Second. Motion and second. Any questions or discussion? Hearing none, all in favor of approving the claim, signify by saying aye. Aye. Any opposed? Motion carries as well. Sam, do you have any public comment? No. We'll listen in. Okay. With that, we'll go on to our reports from the meeting. We do not have one from Greater Freeport Partnership. The report's attached. We'll go on to Mrs. Williams. All right, I'll make this fast. Deposit for the month of June totaled $4,938.16. Total deposits to date for the general fund are $167,653.26. sense. It was a quiet month. We received the no permit list from the assessment office. We issued 10 code violations in the month of June. Those were all for no permits. Most of them were the no permit from the no permit list. I had five of them come in today already, which was great. I should have the information from our building inspector early next week. He did go out to all four sites and take photos and write up some things so he'll have the letters to me. Nicole performed 12 inspections and I performed nine for the month. Nicole and I assisted animal control with packing, moving, and helping incoming clients during their relocation to the new facility. We have started the process once again of scanning files for property file folders to upload them into our software and I have reached out to Great Report Partnership regarding potential grant funding to support the update of the county's 26-year-old land use plan. Also reached out to Ms. Newcomer, and she then included Chairman Helms to get a meeting scheduled. That's all I have. Any questions? Sounds like it's been a busy month. It was quiet, but it was busy. Yeah. Mr. Chairman? Yes, I'd like to ask a quick question. It's hard to comment. Linda Diddens is back in town. Oh, she is. Yeah. I tried to call her I know you had some indirect communication I don't know if I had to contact her or anything she paid through real estate taxes I don't expect you to know this off the top of your head but roughly do you know what the liens are how much 60,300 approximately yes do you question do you want me to to start sending out letters again. Yes, it was. I'll do that. There was just a piggyback on it. There was a car at that house out on 26 today. Windows are open. They weren't previous to about a week or so ago. I think what I'll do is post it on the door as well. If you can get to it. Put it on the garage door too, hopefully. If you can get to it. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. with some more, making a comment, piggyback on that, if you, in Silver Creek Township, there's property that she's part of that's falling apart. Linda is? Mm-hmm, the whole family, her and Lyle, her brother. Do you want to contact me tomorrow? It's on the corner of Springfield and Orchards. Okay. If you want to see the other one that they're part of, that's not in our county, but it's right on the county line, right smack in the middle of Baylorville, and stuff's just piling up around that too Oh, I know, which one you're talking about Yeah, that house, there Yeah, okay So, it's not like it's, I don't want to say it, something new Right, and the ones in the city, they're all in a mess as well, and I just don't understand why city doesn't, there's no letters on doors there, nothing, so, but I will send out those letters and post them to the property. Thank you. I did not make it to the Southern Water District meeting this month, so I won't have any comments on that. So we'll go on to 7.4, and I know Mr. Diddens has some comments on Recreation Trail. Yeah, they're working on their budget, upcoming budgets, and they would like us to commit to three years of funding $16,500. annually. We previously had an intergovernmental agreement that is no longer in effect. So, I'm not real sure how we handle that. Do we do another intergovernmental agreement? I would like to have another agreement in place before we contribute. Okay. And who makes sense? Who puts that together? Joel? No, I think the receiving party should start that process. Okay. At least give us an idea of what they're asking for. Okay. the existing agreements are a good template to use against it's not broke so why fix it kind of thing but regardless of what they send us you will look at it Carl Larson will look at it make sure it's something that we can legally enter into and that you want to enter into yeah I'm a little hesitant committing to three years you know that's well and to be fair I served in your capacity on that board previously, and maybe this is no longer the case, but previously they did want a multi-year agreement because they planned for grants to go out for a certain number of years and they have to fund those, so they want to make sure they've got the funding committed for getting into it. But again, that may be something that they would answer if you have that question specifically, why three years instead of an annual, but it's up to you guys. Steve Elbeck is supposed to come to our next meeting. He was unavailable today. He's planning on coming to next month's meeting and discussing this bill. It'd be ideal if they had proposed intergovernmental agreement to Georgia prior to that. It would be real nice since we're going to be starting the budget process in another month for her to have that, to have in front of you to consider. Okay, I'll get a hold of Steven and pass that along Yeah, we get by the end of the month, that'd be great The only other thing on the trail is Mr. Zimmer is renting out bicycles, weather permitting You have to go to his website to find out where, what location he's at on a given day He does, I think he does Chuddy Crossing and Orangeville and I think there was one out by the hotel, Block, Block, I think it was Block, I think he does those three locations and, you know, the weather's been not real cooperative for him, but he's had a lot of interest in, you know, people stopping him, so you're interested in taking an electric bike ride? Branch, Get Removed Out of West Block, It Was Shoved Up Under the Dock, I didn't want to come my way home, it's not the ideal, I think it was, but I don't know, it's terrifying, honestly, thanks, sorry, Darren, that's all I have, very good, so we'll look forward to that next month, oh, Black Hawk Hill, there is a short, oh, I'm sorry, No, we don't have a board meeting, an executive board until like the third week of this month, so I'm being up to date. I will say this, since you're getting it done, I would like to see, we received a lot of money a while back. I would like to see a housing project, and they've been talking about housing, how they've improved, and the Lord knows we have lots of vacant lots in our communities. in our community. So, you know, I don't know what we'll do, but I'm going to bring it up that maybe if there's some money to be spent, that they spend some money in our county to maybe jumpstart a housing project. It would just be good to see a new house get built in the city to go somewhere, but even where. That's my thought. That's something I'll bring up. I'll share with them. I was just going to mention there was a short little update recap attached to the agenda and I believe Mr. Pat up here next month to kind of update to a report. Dan, Pat. Oh, Pat. I didn't hear you. Thank you. Okay. I have nothing to add, so we'll move on. I don't have, we have a report from Mr. Rivers. I reached out to him. He's a little behind on the mowing, but he was dealing with some illness in the family. And I know he has some work out at the cemetery that he would like to propose and get done as well. And that's the one on the arts? Yeah, yeah. Okay, 7.8, just to point your attention to the climate security report for May, if you're having a chance to look at it, somebody would like to make a comment, Senator, Mr. Chairman, if you wanted to, okay. Again, for some Facebook posts, the company out on Lamb Road across from Anchor Harvey was hiring between about $20 an hour and $26 an hour, depending on your experience in Danfoss, Danfoss has had an ad on there too, so I know about some pretty good jobs, if you're qualified. Oh, Titan has openings? Well, Titan is sad to drive by Titan anymore. A whole lot of cars are when I go by, like at East Street. They're still making tires, I guess. Yes, they are. Good. And there's a lot of skilled labor positions available. Just have to find qualified workforce to do it. And, I mean, Furner's hiring, Snack King's hiring, So there's a lot of places that don't even need a ton of skill. Right. There's opportunity. Yes. All right. We have no other old business that I know of and no new business at this point. So I would entertain a motion to adjourn. Second. All in favor. Aye. That motion carries. Okay. in Chicago, it's hardly worth waiting for them.
